Folded Canvas Series: These pieces involve constructing canvas panels with folds by overlapping and stapling the canvas over the stretcher bars to create a surface with folds to paint on. This technique adds additional dimension to the works and allows me to visually speak on a surface that offers a variety of contours: very much like life’s terrain. These pieces predominantly utilize elements of color, space, layering, and texture with less emphasis on line as the folds provide the linear component.
